Netflix has quite the line-up for their customers in 2017. We are four months through 2017 so far and we already have some notable original series. Marvel's Iron Fist and Ultimate Beastmaster are two of the most notable shows available right now for your enjoyment. Global hits are coming back as well as some new series that boast a particularly interesting concept or story. Here are the five (possibly greatest) series that are definitely coming to Netflix in the next 8 months. Keep in mind minor spoilers may be ahead!
House Of Cards(Season 5)
Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright return as Frank and Claire Underwood in the hit political thriller series. The show picks up after season 4 where Frank and Claire have split up and Frank was being looked into for corruption. It marks the first season where creator Beau Willimon will step down as showrunner. The fifth season will debut on Netflix on the 30th of May.
Marvel's Defenders(Season 1)
Marvel's Defenders is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is based on the comics of the same name. The show stars Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage and Finn Jones as Iron Fist. They have all had their own individual series but will now combine together into the crime fighting unit known as "The Defenders". Various other characters from the individual series will make appearances as well as Stan Lee making a cameo. The show will debut on August 18th later this year.
Bill Nye Saves The World(Season 1)
Bill Nye Save The World is a talk show hosted by the notable science educator and CEO of the planetary society Bill Nye, more commonly known as "Bill Nye the Science Guy". Nye hosts the show but four other well-known individuals will assist him as correspondents. They are Karlie Kloss, Derek Muller(Veritasium) Nazeem Hussain and Emily Calandrelli. The show consists of thirteen episodes that focus on science and its relationship with politics, pop culture and society. Bill Nye Saves The World will debut on April 21st.
Stranger Things(Season 2)
The critically acclaimed science fiction supernatural horror returns in late 2017 with its full cast for a second season. The second season takes place one year after the events of season one and deals with Will's apparent PTSD and the cover-up. The rift between reality and "the upside down" remains open but the show deals with "other forms of horror in contrast to the monster". Season 2 will debut on Halloween of 2017 (October 31st).
Two young children disappear in a German town. It brings light to the fractured relationships, double lives and past of four family members. The show is in German and stars Louis Hofmann and Oliver Masucci. Not much is known about Dark but it appears to be an interesting foreign language Netflix original which aren't easy to come by these days.
